Bannatyne Hotel, Norwich
_space were asked to submit a design proposal and planning application for a 50 bed hotel in Norwich to be constructed on the same site as an existing Bannatyne Health & Fitness Club.
Several proposals were provided, all designed to get the maximum amount of use out of the site, whilst ensuring that the existing facility was not impinged upon, nor the nearby residential area disturbed.
It was intended that the completed design blend seamlessly into the existing area. The construction was to be no more than three stories high, ensuring that the hotel lie in sympathy with the surrounding housing estate. The constuction materials were to be a palette that would have ensured a level of consistency on the site, in order to maintain the ethos of a ‘family of buildings’.
